Mrs. Fish is hands down one of the best sushi spots I've ever been to! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance sets the tone--chic, modern, and cozy, perfect for an intimate meal or a fun night out with friends. The sushi here is incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. I tried the omakase, and it was a flavor journey I'll never forget. The chef's attention to detail and creativity really shines through each piece. The quality of the fish is top-notch, and the balance of flavors in each roll is spot on. Whether you go for the classic sashimi or one of their inventive specialty rolls, you won't be disappointed. On top of the amazing food, the service was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and happy to make recommendations. Overall, Mrs. Fish is a sushi lover's dream and a must-visit for anyone craving an exceptional dining experience. I can't wait to return! P.S..... I believe our servers name was "Chris" ... Mrs. Fish should be happy to have him!

This is an amazing hidden gem in the heart of DTLA. It is hidden because we had to walk down a flight of stairs and from the outside it does not look impressive. During a work conference, we came here with a large group and had not made reservations. Because it was very early evening, they were able to accommodate us but the group was split into 2 different tables. The hostess was very accommodating and helpful. They even told us we could order a la carte or for a fixed price of approximately $60 per person it would be a better deal for the large group. One table ordered a la carte, the other did the fixed price. Both were equally happy. The restaurant is gorgeous with so many photogenic spots. They have an eye catching entrance as you walk down the stairs. They have a hanging huge aquarium on the ceiling. And all the decor is well chosen and modern. They play club music without being annoying. I imagine it must get crazy busy later in the evening and next time I will make a reservation in advance. All the sitting spots look good. The food was delicious! I sat with the group that ordered a la carte. We had bunch of rolls, appetizers and drinks. I have included a copy of the check to see the list of all the items we ordered. It was a great evening and everyone loved Mrs. Fish.

So, so, so GOOD! Ambiance was unique, comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were clean. The staff was nice, communicative and friendly. The fish were beautiful and the food was excellent! We enjoyed every bite of it. We ordered the pre-fix and it was just the right amount of food. Not too much and not too little. The options were tasty and the variety was just right. I do highly recommend this place. The pretty non-alcoholic beverage were delicious as well.

What I Ordered: Jidori Chicken Karage ($14) Yellowtail Serrano ($23) Seared Tuna Crispy Rice ($19) American Wagyu Flat Iron ($39) Uni Pasta ($37) Salmon Nigiri ($9) Fresh Water Eel Nigiri ($9) Bigeye Tuna Nigiri ($9) Rainbow Classic Roll ($19) Kaizen Signature Roll ($20) Mrs. Fish is a Japanese restaurant in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles that serves sushi and other Japanese foods. The Jidori Chicken Karage was a nice appetizer to start my meal with. Crispy with a hearty amount of chicken with each skewer. The Seared Tuna Crispy Rice is also a good choice if you prefer Seared Tuna instead of the popular Spicy Tuna. My favorite was the Yellowtail Serrano. I love it when a dish itself gives an experience of flavors, and this was exactly it. As soon as it enters your mouth, the citrusy flavor of yuzu fills your mouth. Then the taste of the fresh and premium Yellowtail makes you feel like you are in the ocean. It ends with a slight hint of spice with a pepper that leaves your mouth feeling fresh and cool. As for the main course, the Salmon, Tuna, and Fresh Water Eel Nigiris were incredible. I love that there none of the nigiris were too fishy, but perfectly complemented the rice. All of the fishes were very fresh, and the flavors of the nigiris were well complemented with soy sauce and wasabi. The Rainbow Classic and Kaizen Signature Rolls were both delicious. I personally liked the Kaizen roll better, which came with shrimp tempura, salmon, avocado, scallop, and spicy miso. It was much more flavorful and the ingredients complemented each other much better in my opinion. The Uni Pasta comes with a HUGE piece of Uni, so make sure to mix it well with the pasta for a strong uni flavor with each bite. If you happen to not like fish, you should definitely get the American Wagyu Flat Iron. The sauce was a bit salty, but otherwise the dish was absolutely delicious. Great quality meat, and the chef really knows how to cook a steak. It also comes with maitake and king oyster mushrooms, which serve as great sides to the steak. I almost liked the mushrooms as much as I liked the steak. Service: The staff were quick and friendly! Ambiance: a great first date!
